The Church of "St. Dimitar"

According to data from 1823 the old church "St. Dimitar" had four rented shops, land and other properties. This church was demolished on 17.06.1856 and on its place on 21.04.1857 the construction of the new church was started. The materials used were from the demolished in 1856 church "St. Trinity", which was the first church in Lyaskovets and was located in the first settled area, which to this day has the new name Svetitsa. The construction was planned and supervised by the original Bulgarian architect Nikola Ficheto. The church was consecrated on the feast of St. Dimitrov, and it had a shop and a theatre. The earthquake in 1913 demolished the roof and bell tower of the church, which were later rebuilt.
