The territory of the Local Initiative Group “Troyan – Apriltsi – Ugarchin” is located within the borders of the municipalities of Troyan, Apriltsi and Ugarchin and has a total area of ​​1,650.2 km2, which represents 40% of the territory of Lovechka region. Troyan municipality has an area of ​​888.84 km2, Apriltsi municipality has an area of ​​238.26 km2, and Ugarchin municipality has a total area of ​​523.1 km2.

The territory of the LAG borders the following municipalities:

To the north – Pleven municipality;
To the west – Teteven municipality and Lukovit municipality;
To the east – the municipality of Lovech and the municipality of Sevlievo;
To the south – the municipalities of Karlovo and Sopot.

The territory of the “Troyan – Apriltsi – Ugarchin” MIG falls into the Northern – Danube Plain wine-growing region.

The region is semi-mountainous and mountainous and the territory covers part of the Central Balkan National Park and 4 reserves.

The city of Troyan is located on the banks of the river Cherni Osam at an altitude of 450 m, in the municipality of Ugarchin the altitude is between 200 and 700 m, and the city of Apriltsi is at an altitude of 550 m.

Local initiative group “Troyan – Apriltsi – Ugarchin” consists of a total of 35 settlements, the total population is 34,705 people as of 2021.

The municipality of Troyan consists of 22 settlements, of which the municipal center is the town of Troyan and 21 villages, which are: the villages of Balabansko, Balkanets, Beli Osam, Belish, Borima, Vrabevo, Golyama Zhelyazna, Gorno Trape, Gumoshtnik, Debnevo, Dobrodan, Dalbok dol , Kaleitsa, Lomets, Oreshak, Patreshko, Staro selo, Terziysko, Cherni Osam, Chiflik and Shipkovo.

The municipality of Apriltsi consists of 4 settlements, of which the municipal center is the town of Apriltsi and the villages of Drashkova Polyana, Velchevo and Skandaloto.

The municipality of Ugarcin consists of 11 settlements, of which the municipal center is the town of Ugarcin and the villages: Golets, Dragana, Kalenik, Katunec, Kirchevo, Lesidren, Mikre, Orlyane, Slavshtitsa and Sopot.
