Church temple - village of Nikolaevo

The church is located in the village of Nikolaevo, Strazhitsa municipality, Veliko Tarnovo region. The village used to be a Bulgarian neighborhood in the Turkish village of Yuryukleri, which translated into Bulgarian meant " wild horses" or "tabun horses". Yuryukleri was renamed the village of Nikolaevo immediately after the Liberation in memory of the commander-in-chief of the army during the liberation of Bulgaria from Turkish control, Grand Duke Nikolai Nikolaevich.

Unfortunately, as of 2014 the village was relatively depopulated and numbered up to 80 Bulgarian inhabitants with nearly 200 livable houses.

The church is also desolated and abandoned.
