The fountain "Elia" (Sutilia) is a small spring of drinking water, the spout of which literally comes out of a stone block - an authentic Roman sarcophagus dating from about 180 AD. On top of the sarcophagus is carved a Latin inscription in the form of a lyrical work - an epitaph, expressing the feelings of the Roman official Fronton, who mourns his deceased young wife Elijah.
The sarcophagus is distinguished as an archaeological site above all by a unique lyrical work carved on the stone, describing in detail the grief of Fronton, who sends his beloved for the last time.
Today it is mainly the champions of local traditions from the Nikopol community centre who look after the site, while literary enthusiasts visit the fountain to draw inspiration from the fine words.
