The Black Monument in the Zla Reka district

On the monument there is an inscription "In memory of the fallen 142 people in the fight against the Turks in the Novosel uprising from 1 to 9 May 1876". It is inscribed on a monument bearing the name "The Black Monument", built in 1885 by Matthieu Radil - a participant in the uprising, proved to be an excellent shooter in the battle of May 7. It is a reminder of the scale of the battles of 4,7 and 10 May.
