Musala Peak is located in the eastern part of Rila Mountain, which is visited by many tourists, and the peak is very beautiful and offers great views of the rest of the mountain. It is the highest peak of the Rila Mountain, in Bulgaria and on the Balkan Peninsula. Musala Peak is 2925 m and 40 cm high, towers over beautiful lakes and is close to other beautiful peaks.
There are several routes to the peak, one of the most popular is through the Borovets resort and from there by cable car to the hut Yastrebets, after which it is a walk of several hours.
Musala peak is part of the 100 national tourist sites, as well as the 10 mountain champions of the Bulgarian Tourist Union. The peak can be climbed all year round, but it is most comfortable in the summer season as the conditions are most pleasant then. The name of the peak comes from Arabic and means "the way of God".
