Reserve "Kozya Stena" is the smallest reserve in National park "Central Balkan" and covers an area of 904 ha. It was established in 1987 to protect the endangered Edelweiss and the centuries-old beech- fir forests. It is located in the land of the Troyan village of Chiflik. In spite of its small area, the reserve impresses with its huge arrays of centuries-old beech and mixed fir-beech forests. About 40 plant species have been found, including Edelweiss, Bulgarian, Red-necked and Graceful chaparral, Helmeted sallep and many others. On the territory of the reserve there is the rock phenomenon Kozia Stena, as well as other diverse rock formations. More than 68 nesting birds such as Osprey, Golden Eagle and others have been recorded, also many mammals such as the Balkan goat.
