According to a decision of the Municipal Council of 1993, the town of Troyan celebrates its holiday every year on October 14 - the day of St. Petka, the heavenly patroness of the town. On this day, the church celebrates one of the most revered in our country - St. Petka, also called Bulgarian, who over the centuries became a symbol of the struggle for the preservation of Christian culture in our lands. The feast in honor of St. Petka - Petkovden, is considered to be the end of summer and autumn, and thus of the active working cycle. In traditional folk beliefs, this day is considered the beginning of the winter holidays. Every year Troyan celebrates its holiday with a rich artistic program - opening of exhibitions, sports initiatives and concerts.
