Borovets is the first resort in Bulgaria and the place dates back as recreation resort since 1896. Near the resort there is also a natural landmark, the Black Rock, which is a huge stone cliff. The Borovets resort complex is one of the largest in Bulgaria and is situated at an altitude of 1300 m on the northern slopes of the Rila Mountains and is 70 km from the city of Sofia and 10 km from the town of Samokov.
In the ski area of the resort. Borovets has a total of 24 slopes, lifts and lifts are 12 in total, modern well maintained and with excellent capacity. The slopes are grouped in three areas - Sitnyakovo-Martinova Baraki, Markujik and Yastrebets and have various difficulty levels for skiing.
