"Napredak 1870" community center was founded in 1870 and until the Liberation it developed active cultural and educational activities. The building of the community centre was demolished by the earthquake in 1913, but in 1914 a new one was built. In 1936 a town choir was founded, first church choir, then secular, in 1950 a children's music school was opened, and in 1965 a museum with exhibits collected from the population opened its doors. From 1961, children's courses in German and French were also organized at the community centre. The community library has a collection of over 50,000 books and a readers are over 1,000. There is also a computer room with 13 computers, 1 laptop and 1 multimedia. The following activities are carried out at the community centre: Children's Music School with piano and violin classes; "Beli Ruzhi" Old Town Song Group; "Rhythm" Dance School and "Rhythm" Ballet; "Zvoncheta" Children's Vocal Group; "Rainbow" Children's Dance Group; Dance group "Crazy Young"; School of folk instruments "Descendants", Literary club "Inspiration"; Club "Young ethnographer"; Children's folk singing group "Sorina"; Theater group "Melpomena".
