Protected zone “Persina” - BG0000396

The Persina protected area has been designated under Directive 92/43 (Habitats Directive) and has four objectives:

• Conservation and maintenance of the natural habitat types mentioned in point 2.1, the habitats of the species mentioned in point 2.2, their populations and distribution within the area, in order to achieve and maintain their favourable conservation status in the Continental biogeographical region;
• Improve the structure and function of 10 habitats;
• Enhance the habitats of the spur-thighed tortoise, spurred tortoise, long-eared nightjar and sharp-eared nightjar;
• Where necessary, improve the condition or restore the habitat types listed in 2.1, habitats of species listed in 2.2 and their populations.
