Many legends, documents, objects from archaeological excavations in the vicinity of the town of Lyaskovets, among which a Roman press for grapes was discovered, prove that winemaking is one of the oldest crafts of the Lyaskovets people, but it was not until 1863 that they formed the Bee Society, whose followers in the middle of the twentieth century, captivated by the magic of champagne, cava and prosecco, were the first to start the production of naturally sparkling wines in Bulgaria.
At present, the largest wine producer in the territory is "Total Vini" Ltd.
