Until recently, not much was known about “St. Apostles Peter and Paul” church, which is located in the village of Belchin itself and which is supposed to have preserved some of the icons inherited from the medieval church on St. Spas. From the personal gospel of Father Bone Stoynev it is clear that the construction of this church began in 1884 and its official consecration was carried out a year later. The bell tower was erected at the end of the 1930s, and because the church was increasingly crumbling with time, it was necessary to completely renovate it, which was carried out in the period 1997-2000, and the bell tower was transformed into a cupola with 2 bells. Each of the icons in the church bears the name of its donors, which makes it easier to trace the old families in the village of Belchin.
