Natural landmark „The Black Rock formation“

There is an eco-trail to the natural landmark of „Тhe Black Rock formation“, which starts from the Borovets resort complex. The starting point of the trail is very accurately marked on Google maps and can be set as a point in the navigation. On the way to the Black Rock there is a large roadside sign and two arrow-boards, which indicate the direction to the Maritsa and Zavrachitsa huts and then the sign for the Black Rock. The road is wide and almost flat, and the path itself winds entirely in the shadows of the Rila trees.

The place is called the Black Rock because after September 9, 1944 more than 70 people from the Samokov region were brutally killed - thrown into the abyss, alive, with their hands tied.
