Description
On the eastern part of the hill above Nikopol is the Victory Monument, mounted in honour of the 1,300 Russian and Romanian soldiers who lost their lives during the liberation of Bulgaria in 1877. This monument was built in 1906 and has a very beautiful view of the Danube.
This monument is one of the 12 built immediately after the Liberation, on the initiative of the Russian War Ministry.
