Nikopol fortress "Shishmanova vrata"

Nikopol Fortress is a strongly fortified fortress of important strategic importance and a well protected harbour. To date, it is relatively well preserved the so-called "Shishmanova vrata", which in fact dates not from the reign of Ivan Shishman, but only from the early 19th century. For the first time the Nikopol fortress is mentioned in Bulgaria apocryphal chronicle of the XI century.
