Community centre "Razvitie 1902" - village of Merdanya

The community centre "Razvitie 1902" was founded in 1902, the building has a hall for 500 people and was built with donations from local residents. In 1947 a mixed folk choir was founded, in 1958 a three-voice women's choir was established, which still exists today. Today, the following groups function at the community centre: the Women's Folk Choir; the Kalina Children's Folklore Group; the Reenactments and Customs Group and the Clever and Skilful Children's Club. The library of the community centre has about 110 readers and the library collection numbers over 9 000 items.
