Memorial ceremony for Rabbi Yosef Karo

Nikopol Municipality, community center "Napredak 1871" and Elementary School "Hristo Botev" annually organize a commemorative ceremony on the occasion of the anniversary of the death of Rabbi Yosif Karo, which takes place on May 24 at his monument. The famous Jewish priest opened in Nikopol the most famous higher education center in Europe, during the time when he was the chief rabbi of the Danube city.
