The Seven Rila Lakes are a group of lakes of glacial origin located in the Rila Mountains. They are lake group in Bulgaria which is the most visited by tourists from all over the world and is one of the 100 national tourist sites. The Rila Lakes are positioned in the Damga section of the Northwest Rila Mountains and are situated terraced between 2095 m and 2535 m above sea level. The lakes are situated in depressions on the mountain slope and are interconnected by small rivulets and streams, with small waterfalls and waterfalls forming as the water passes over them. They can be reached by a chairlift which ascends to the Rilski ezera hut from where the main route begins along marked trails.
