The Esova House was built in the middle of the 19th century on the model of the Plovdiv Renaissance houses, and the graphic base now represents a harmony between spirit and tradition. This is actually the house of Peter Esov, born in 1894, who was the leader of the youth movement and the Spartak Physical Education Society. He was killed on September 27, 1923 by the fascists. The importance of the graphic base in the city is undeniable, because it manages to create a bridge between two very different institutions - the Union of Bulgarian Artists and the leadership of a separate city, and it is also useful both for the Samokov public and for the development of contemporary art. The main purpose of the existence of the graphic base is to establish it as a cultural centre, to expand the circle of artists working in it, to deepen contacts and exchanges nationally and internationally.
