Dalmatian Pelican Festival

The Dalmatian Pelican Festival takes place in May, in front of the Nature park Persina Visitor Centre, and the format of the festival is a daily event with an informative, educational and conservation focus. The aim of the festival is to popularize the nesting sites of the Dalmatian Pelican on the territory of Nature park Persina, as well as throughout Bulgaria, to promote conservation measures and to familiarize the general public with the biological and ecological features of the species. Every year the nature parks of Bulgaria, various nature conservation organizations, social and educational institutions, citizens and others are invited to the festival.

The Dalmatian Pelican Festival is part of the activities of the "Life of the Pelican" project under the EU LIFE Program.
