Since 2014, every year in July at the Ambaritsa hut, in the Troyan Balkan Mountains, the unique blueberry festival has been organized, which may be the Bulgarian festival held at the highest altitude. At the heart of the event, it is the hut keeper Emilia Gateva, who has been taking care of the place for several years, and dozens of guests of the hut join in the organization with voluntary work. This festival is inspired by one of the richest mountain ranges with wild blueberries, among which the hut is situated. Another important feature is that it successfully combines a walk in the mountains, a tented camp, a bonfire and music, and various entertainment. In addition to a significant attendance, the festival has a rich and varied programme: blueberry picking competitions, a competition for the best blueberry recipe, screenings of short films and documentaries, live music, lectures and discussions on eco-themes.
