The Ethnographic Museum in the village of Belchin was built in 2007 as a branch of the City History Museum - town of Samokov. The museum collects expositions with objects of different household themes, preserving the culture and traditions of the population over the centuries. Functionally and figuratively the building replicates a Balkan house from the first half of the 19th century. During the exploration of the whole complex, many facts were discovered, taking the history of the village of Belchin back centuries. The construction of the museum in the village is also related to the need to create a favourable environment and conditions for the continuation of research activities of archaeologists, art historians and other scientists in the area for the discovery, restoration and promotion of objects of cultural and historical heritage.
