“Otets Paisii” Memorial - Community Centre

The Samokov community institution was founded during the Renaissance, the most probable year of its establishment being 1853. In 1862 the first theatrical performance was given, and in 1870 the new management gave the community centre the name "St. "Sedmochislenitsi. The foundations of the present building were laid in 1912, but the wars that followed interrupted the construction, and the building was completed later and its official initiation took place on 23.12.1923. On the occasion of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Slavic-Bulgarian History in 1912 the community centre was named "Otets Paisii". To date, in the community center -Memorial "Otets Paisii-1859" there are twelve working creative collectives, whose many performances and successes are the pride  of Samokov residents.
