34-metre cross

Towering in the centre of the town of Apriltsi, reaching up to the starry sky with its colossal 34 metres, a metal cross protects the Balkan town and its inhabitants. It was built on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of the April Uprising and the 30th anniversary of Apriltsi being a town, on the initiative of a local businessman and thanks to his funding. During the day one can access it by stairs in its metal construction and observe from an almost bird's eye view the huddled houses and small bends, and in the evening one can see the divine glow of the cross.
